Suffering From Neck Pain?

What Is It?

Neck pain is, well, a pain in the neck. It can be caused by an accident or injury that happens in the blink of an eye, aging, daily life, as well as other more serious conditions, such as osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, or spinal stenosis. You can learn more about each of these conditions through the Neck Pain and Chiropractic page on the American Chiropractic Association website.

Signs And Symptoms

From a mild twinge when you strain your head one way to excruciating pain without moving more than an inch, the pain of a neck injury or problem can range widely. What may start as a small pain you think you can live with can quickly turn into pain that prevents you from sleeping well or interfering with other daily activities.

Patients who visit our chiropractor in Pittsburgh in search of pain relief often report these signs and symptoms:

  • Stiff neck
  • General soreness
  • Headaches
  • Sharp neck pain – may also radiate
  • Weakness, numbness, or tingling
  • Difficulty lifting or gripping objects

Neck Pain in Pittsburgh

Some of these signs and symptoms, such as stiff neck, general soreness, and headaches, may come and go throughout life without a serious cause. Sometimes we sleep in a weird position that leaves us stiff for a day, and sometimes we eat poorly and get headaches. There are a plethora of reasons one may randomly experience these signs and symptoms; however, if they persist for more than a day or two, or if they are a result of one of the more serious conditions or an accident, professional neck pain treatment is recommended.

Together with massage, our chiropractor builds a customized treatment plan to eliminate your neck pain from the source. Treatment can vary from a traditional adjustment to using one of our more advanced techniques, such as Thompson, Gonstead, or Activator.

New patients are welcomed to schedule a free consultation to discuss their pain and get an opinion from our team about an advised treatment plan. Plus, we’ll throw in a free 15 minute massage with every first visit.
